It's been an exciting weekend for BBF. After our first attempt at playing Rock the Park in June was rained out we got another go at it on Saturday. Seth came into town on Friday night to play a little Poker and then Saturday afternoon we were all reunited in our typical practice room to get ready for our set at Rock the Park.
Rock the Park is essentially a battle of the bands held at Montgomery's Riverwalk Amphitheater. 10 bands come to compete for a prize of $1,000 and a chance to play at B.B. King's Jazz and Blues Club. Each band gets 20 minutes to impress the judges and excite the crowd. We played a four song set that featured three originals and one cover of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song." After a quick trip to Chris' Hot Dogs we came back for the results.
And then it happened.
We won 1st place and Simba missed it.
In his defense he was getting the gear in case of an encore, which we did get to play.
We are very thankful to all of our family and friends who came out to support us, to Blue Water Broadcasting for hosting the event, and to all of the music lovers who got to to hear our passion.
